Raleigh North Carolina Wedding | Abby + Andy

We are so excited to share with you this Raleigh North Carolina COVID wedding. When Abby and Andy got engaged, the “where” was about as easy as the “who”. Abby works at a 19th century Victorian home, turned wedding venue, in the heart of North Carolina where high ceilings and historic charm are in abundance. After being a part of hundreds of weddings and making other brides’ dreams come true, it was (finally!) her turn to write a page of this home’s history. Flash forward almost 2 years and thanks to our friend C**ID, carefully laid plans went right out one of those big arched windows. Compromises were made, guest lists trimmed, and things previously important faded into the background.

However, looking back, despite all the changes, the “why” and the “what” were more apparent and in-focus than ever. Action-packed timelines gave way to meaningful conversations, a family-style dinner was now a multi-course experience (complete with salted caramel bourbon apple ciders!) and LED light up masks + card games became the new party props. It all began to fall into place, and the decor added exactly the right amount of magic needed to create the warm “stay awhile” atmosphere the other elements entertained. Dancing fall florals brought interest, twinkle-light canopies added coziness and comfort, and hand-picked place settings gave guests a peek of what was to come.

With a team of vendors supporting one of their own, a whole lot of love from family and friends, and a narrowly-missed hurricane at bay, 10-10-2020 exceeded all expectations as Abby and Andy’s most special day. It was a huge reminder that one big ‘pivot’ may just lead you exactly where you are meant to end up.
